Project Description
Presented at Open Hardware Summit 2024 in collaboration with Kari Love, Shuang Cai, and Becky Stern.
A novel and fun way to repurpose disposable vapes. Vape Synth (or Elf Synth) is part of a larger initiative to reduce e-waste generated by disposable vapes and repurpose the rechargable lithium batteries.
The "synth" circuit is a hacked astable 555 noise maker circuit taken from the Forrest Mims Engineer's Mini Workbook "Timer Op Amp and Optoelectronic Circuits and Projects".
