Rios (Brooklyn, NY) is an artist and educator using electronics as a conduit for expression, education, and human connection. His work takes the form of musical instruments, installations, experiences, and reused / repurposed objects.
Rios is currently a professor at NYU's ITP / IMA programs, where his research focuses on custom and hacked electronics, sound, material reuse, computer programming, process based learning, and the opportunities for fostering community and connection around those practices. Previously he wrote curriculum for NYC's CS4All physical computing initiative, taught Physical Computing and Creative Coding at the City College of New York, and was an Assistant Manager of Digital Tools at the Parsons Making Center @ The New School.
